"If my daughter or my son came to me, in agony, and I knew there was a program that I could get them into, that had positive effects on their mental health, I would swim across rivers, and climb mountains and tunnel through whatever I needed to get to, to save that child’s life" Oh for fuck sake... Such cheap emotional manipulation is beneath anyone's dignity. Yes, here we are knowing that there is a magic gender band-aid that we can place on our children's existential angst but heartless bitches, we just don't want to get off our lazy assess and swim across the river to get it.
Yep, it used to be only the bullies at Fox practiced that particularly aggressive form of Attack Interviewing, but they had so much success with it that everyone copied them. They didn't invent it, but they sure popularized it.
It's formalized bullying, and the only effective way to deal with a bully, if you're going to remain engaged with them, is to bully them right back. Cut them off, put THEM on the defensive, and keep them on the defensive. It takes a lot of aggression and adrenaline and peak performance quick-intellect, but it's doable.
"If my daughter or my son came to me, in agony, and I knew there was a program--"
"In agony over what? How do you know? Did you take them to a Psych? Were they assessed thoroughly? Does the Psych in question ever NOT affirm? Are you so clueless about your own kid that their agony could come out of the blue? Do you always automatically accept every wacky idea your kids come up with to explain what's going on with themselves without question? Do you know how long they've been on the internet talking to who knows who about who knows what? Do you know how many crazy ideas are out there?
The gentler methods are more persuasive in the long run of course :-)
Pragmatism is an ugly disease that has destroyed many. Whatever makes them "happy", right? Define happy, and does it matter how long the "happiness" lasts or is it all about the present moment?
Jon Stewart is so full of it! The truth is his kids didn’t come to him with this problem because if they would he wouldn’t be so ready to offer his “expert” advice! It would be oh so much more complicated.
Unlike Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and John Oliver who cannot bear to poke fun at the foibles of the left, Ricky Gervais, Bill Maher and Dave Chappelle are equal opportunity comedians. That’s why they are consistently funny and the others are not.
In addition, children can no more “consent” to have their healthy breasts and genitalia removed than they can “consent” to have sex with an adult. It is monstrous to believe otherwise and Jon Stewart apparently fits in this category.

Sing it sister. 🎤🎤🎤
“Oh for fucks sake” seems to be the response I have to way too many things these days! Love your response!
Lmao 🤣
ha, seriously. His response sounds like it was lifted straight from the "Runaway Bunny" board book.
So glad you re-shared this! Now I can update the link on my FB share so it no longer redirects to a dead end. It's too good to not amplify.
Oh good to hear! Thank you Leah!

Word. I looked up pictures of his kids and sure enough they're so-called "normies." So easy to preach from his safe little pulpit.
