With school starting in two days, I thought I’d share this piece from a year ago. It will be Miss Miller’s senior year. She’s planning to audition for the lead role in the Fall musical—a male role—which is great. Play all the male characters you want, honey. Just don’t try to be one in real life. It’s excruciating enough to witness your friends medicalize their fantasies, with so many adults cheering them on. It’s like watching a mother feed her baby into a meat grinder.
🎭
Theatre nerds out-present other social groups at Miss Miller’s high school in terms of trans identities. Virtually none of the jocks identify out of their birth sex from what I’ve witnessed. (BTW, remember jocks?)
With that in mind, I give you…
High School Musical: The Trans Stats, Fall 2022
There are 62 kids in the cast and crew of the fall musical, a Disney favorite.
17 of 62 identify with either nonbinary or opposite sex pronouns, or 27.42%
Two kids are on opposite sex hormones—that I know of. They are both girls. That equals 3.23% of 62 kids and 11.76% of the 17 trans-identifying kids.
Of the 17 trans-identifying kids, 13 are girls, or 76.47%. The four boys equal 23.54%
Every trans kid is white.
My daughter’s name in the playbill is not her birth name, but her “chosen” name that I detest. (Miss Miller unwittingly named herself after a dead cousin she’d never met, the daughter of my estranged brother. Her cousin died of a drug overdose when she was twenty-seven and seven months pregnant. When I was four and he was twelve, my brother molested me. Yes, Miss Miller knows this now. No, she won’t change the name, and no, I do not call her the name.) Last year, the school happily changed her name and pronouns behind my back as per their wedge-driving policy, the one I’ve fought against and lost on three separate occasions.
Even though I feel 90% confident she will desist one day from identifying as a gay man and will not pursue hormones or surgery, it still freaks me out that there are so many trans kids at the school and so many willfully blind teachers and parents. Are they looking to score “cool” points? Will they ever wake up to the fact that they are actively encouraging delusions that lead to living nightmares? Or will they dance right over the cliff?
To gild the lily—or add insult to injury—we are just at the tail end of Trans Awareness Week. It’s described on the high school website thusly:
During Transgender Awareness Week, transgender people and their allies work to bring attention to the transgender community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community.
As part of Transgender Awareness Week, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, will be Pronoun Awareness Day in LMSD. Led by students from the secondary school AGSAs (All Gender and Sexuality Alliances), students and staff who may take part in activities designed to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. Referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves is basic to human dignity. Being referred to by the wrong pronouns particularly affects transgender and gender nonconforming people. The goal of the day is to create a sense of belonging by celebrating people's multiple, intersecting identities.
Ah, manipulation and gaslighting. Once upon a time I thought I left that bullshit behind when I cut ties with my brother and other assholes along the way. I worked hard to instill a sense of accountability into my kids, only to have the school undermine it by discouraging critical thinking and glorifying victimhood.
The “transgender community experiences prejudice, discrimination and violence.” Using peoples’ chosen pronouns corresponds with “human dignity.” Misgendering is therefore tantamount to violence. Let’s “celebrate intersecting identities.” What about taking the focus away from sex, gender, identity and oppression and putting it on hard work, effort, good grades and merit? Dress however you want. Call yourself whatever you like, but show up and do your best.
Over the past year it’s become obvious to me that this neo-Marxist framework pits children against their non-affirming parents, with the school playing the “kind” third party—the hero who will swoop in and rescue these exotic unicorns.
And yet, how exotic can one be when there are 17 unicorns in the theatre club?

There are 1,568 kids in the entire high school. Within these parameters, only 1.08% of kids in the school identify as trans, but that number may not accurately portray the truth of it. I know of one child in particular, who is not in the theatre program, who identifies as the opposite sex and medicalizes with puberty blockers and testosterone. Perhaps there are more. For now, three of 1,568 medicalize, or 0.19%. That’s a small number.
Maybe 0.19% is why so many adults remain blissfully oblivious, and why ROGD moms often feel 100% alone.
💔
How are there people who still believe all of this BS?? We used to understand teens are 150% conviction but 50% wisdom....we would allow them some leeway to act ridiculously but tried to not let them do permanently damaging stuff-tattoos, marriage etc
