Your essay has given me a new word to use when my daughter accuses me of transphobia. "No, I'm a trans-skeptic," I'll say, "because I don't believe in gendered souls and 'need' to be in the sports and spaces of the opposite sex." We'll see how that goes over. But it's the truth and needs to be constantly communicated.
Trans-skeptic is good! I take comfort every time the truth is communicated to Miss Miller without my intervention, in the form of pretty much everyone she meets--at least in my presence--waiters, receptionists, sales clerks, etc. The world sees her as female and I really think she knows it would be an uphill battle too massive to manage.
I'm so happy your girl is stepping so clearly back into reality. You are a good confused-kid mom AND a good emotional support mom. The side of Reality and Common Sense is truly fortunate you were awakened and that your smart and fearless mouth can speak on its behalf. Love!

I also find it ironic that the lockdowns pushed so hard by the Progressives actually awakened (almost said "woke up") many parents to the BS that progressive teachers were feeding their kids. There may be a greater potential for the "Triumph of the Trads" than we thought.
As a side issue, I am always blown away by the sheer amount of money and power behind this odd agenda--the billions, the thousands of people hired and paid, the buildings occupied, the surgeons captured--for less than the 1% and for something that seems to be obviously a cultural experiment by the people in power. It is clearly not driven by market conditions. Something well-funded and organized is at the heart of all of this.
My heart did a little skip of joy when your babygirl responded. There’s also something about taking care of our animals, when they need us, that brings our truest and best selves out. Congratulations on your sobriety! I’m tentatively in the other fellowship (still clean etc. just had our very own local Ghislaine/Jeffrey nightmare and I tried to keep the predators away from newcomer girls and it all went sideways for me) and one of the hardest things has been watching former sponsees get sucked into woke. It really is the ‘easier softer way’ that feeds self-centered fear. Addiction and woke both feed on comforting lies while robbing us of agency and integrity. Happy belated Thanksgiving and I’m rooting for you and Miss Miller. Truth, ugly, messy and uncomfortable, is still our greatest ally ❤️

It's been growing steadily for 20 years, more recently accelerated by social media and woke aggression post-Trump and post-Floyd.
